Desert Prince moves to Italy

Former Woodlands shuttler Desert Prince will transfer from Germany to Italy for the 2012 northern season.  His most recent home at Gestut Isarland is closing down.

Desert Prince (Green Desert) was a Group 1 winner of the Irish 2000 Guineas, Prix du Moulin and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes in 1998.

He began stallion duties at the Irish National Stud and was based there until the move to Germany in 2007.  In Australia, he sired the G1 winners Outback Prince (QTC T J Smith Classic) and Kusi (MRC Blue Diamond Stakes).

Desert Prince will stand near Sienna for a 6,000 euros fee in 2012.  He will be based at Allevamento Della Berardenga alongside Dr Devious and King Charlemagne.
