Mungrup Stud shuttler Dick Turpin paraded prior to the Tattersalls February Sale on Thursday and he’s proving popular with English breeders again this year.
His northern base at the English National Stud is no more than 4km float trip past Newmarket racecourse to the Tattersalls sales complex.
“Dick Turpin’s first foals averaged over 20,000 pounds (AUD 36,530) last year,” English National Stud Managing Director Brian O’Rourke said on Friday. “He’s an exciting young stallion and we’re really looking forward to seeing them at the yearling sales later this year.”
His top-priced foal was the half-brother 2012 German 1000 Guineas winner Electrelane (Dubawi) that made the equivalent of AUD 132,040 at the Tattersalls December Sale.
Dick Turpin (Ire) served a book of 100 in his second southern season at Mungrup Stud last year. Among them are the following mares with their yearlings catalogued for the Perth Magic Millions this month.
