Divine Luck makes his debut at Caulfield this Saturday and it’s three years ago to the day that his older half-sister Mimi Lebrock won the Magic Millions 2yo Classic.
Divine Luck (2c Bradbury’s Luck – God Love It by St Covet) is up against several other first-starters and has been quoted at $5 in pre-post markets for the Thomas North Plate (Race 2 at 1.30pm AEDT). He will be partnered by Damien Oliver who has elected to stay in Melbourne instead of riding at the Gold Coast.
Bradbury’s Luck won the 2005 Magic Millions Classic and he jumped the blocks at stud when Ringa Ringa Rosie won on debut at Doomben in November. She is at double-figure odds to emulate her sire in this year’s MM Classic.
Divine Luck’s dam God Love It was a Wyong maiden winner from 15 starts. Mimi Lebrock is her only foal to race to date and, after the Magic Millions, the Bart Cummings trained filly went on to win the G2 Tristarc Stakes at Caulfield and the G3 Let’s Elope Stakes at Flemington.
Trainer Danny O’Brien part-owns Divine Luck along with breeder Phil Byers. The colt went through the Gold Coast sale-ring last year and made $160,000 as part of the Glenlogan Park draft.
