Double-century for Vinery

Casino Prince brought up a double-century for Vinery sires following a half-dozen winners on the weekend.

On Saturday, All Too Hard maintained a clear-cut lead over his second-season rivals when reaching 100 wins this season and his sire Casino Prince started a stampede that propelled him past 100 individual winners for the third year in a row.

Casino Prince had winners around the country; Latitude (pictured), Mister Hootabell, Royal Roulette (NSW), Plain ‘n’ Simple, Casino Thoughts (Qld) and Gambled (WA).  He has another month to surpass career-best stats of 104 individual winners set two years ago.

Casino Prince was an immediate success at stud winning the Australian first-season title in 2011-12 when All Too Hard starred with Group 2 victories in the Victorian Sires’ Produce and Pago Pago Stakes.

Latitude’s win at Newcastle on Saturday was her fifth of the season following a Kempsey maiden back on August 5.  The Neil Godbolt-trained mare was allowed to dictate terms under Rachel Hunt for an easy victory in the Port Stephens Cup (1600m).

She is one of six winners from Acupuncture (Pins) who was Group 2 placed at Matamata.

Casino Prince (Flying Spur) has sired 27 black-type performers and his winning strike-rate is a sky-high 68%.  He’s value-plus at a $9,900 (inc GST) service fee at Vinery this year.
