A precocious Dr Doute’s filly will race in Singapore after changing hands at the Magic Millions 2YO Sale on Tuesday.
The Dr Doute’s filly from Missy Memoirs (Rubiton) made $32,000 to the bid of Singapore trainer Michael Clements. Her breeze-up time (10.17s) was the fastest of any filly catalogued for the Gold Coast Sale.
“She’s a neat filly and has early speed – I think she will be suited in our two year-old races back home later this year,” Clements said. “Her breeze-up was very smart and she has a lovely temperament, too.”
The Magic Millions filly is from the first-crop of Dr Doute’s who stands at Ridgeview Park in Muskerry East for a $4,400 (inc gst) service fee. Her dam is a half-sister to SAJC Dequettville Stakes runner-up Land Of Dreams.
Dr Doute’s (Redoute’s Choice) was an outstanding juvenile for part-owner and trainer Mark Kavanagh. He was unbeaten as a two year-old at Morphettville (1000m) and Moonee Valley (1200m) and returned the following season to capture the G3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington and LR City of Adelaide Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville.
