With A Promise has continued her dream run with a determined victory in the Singapore Airlines Plate (1350m) at Doomben.

The Ben Currie-trained filly took up a customary forward position on Saturday and then came out on top of a duel with front-runner I’m A Ripper. The win extended her record to 7 wins from 14 starts and $228,675 in earnings.

With A Promise was purchased by Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA) for just $26,000 at the 2015 Gold Coast Magic Millions on behalf of owner Mike Crooks. She has won 3 of her last 4 starts including a black-type bonus in the LR Silk Stocking (1200m) at the Gold Coast in May.

“She’s got a lot of fight in her, that’s for sure,” jockey Jimmy Orman said. “I was a big effort to back up after Ipswich last week and win again.”

With A Promise (3f I Am Invincible – Danrese by Hurricane Sky) is from a Sydney winning half-sister to Adelaide stakes winner Vignor (Flying Spur).

Boomer Bloodstock’s Craig Rounsefell provided another winner earlier on Saturday for Crooks and his wife Patty when Fallen For You was successful for the second time in a week.

Fallen For You, a 3yo filly by Show A Heart, won at the Gold Coast on June 17 and doubled up after a seven-day break at Beaudesert. She was purchased at the Inglis Melbourne Premier for $52,000 from Burnewang North and has now earned $150,000.

Boomer’s headline horse Scales of Justice will be favoured to make it two in a row in the G3 Strickland Stakes (2000m) at Belmont this Saturday. He won the G3 Hyperion Stakes (1600m) a fortnight ago to improve take his tally to 8 wins from 16 starts for prizemoney over $1.26 million.

Rounsefell bought him at the 2014 Inglis Melbourne Premier from Millford Thoroughbreds acting as agent for breeders Gerard and Kathy Hammond. “We thought Scales of Justice would make up to $100,000,” Millford’s Jarrod Byers recalled. “But Craig and Robbie Laing were both very interested and he eventually sold for $180,000!”
