Glenlogan Park sire Show A Heart seemed certain to notch another Group 1 when Toorak Toff loomed up and took the lead in the AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

Toorak Toff (2c Show A Heart – Orong by Grand Lodge) was coming off a victory in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in Adelaide but Yosei derailed any chance of a feature double when she rallied to finish in front of a thrilling four-way photo-finish.

Toorak Toff will get his chance to win a Group 1 in the spring.  Part-owner and trainer Rick Hore-Lacy has the G1 Caulfield Guineas as a long-term target for the big chestnut.  Show A Heart won the Guineas in 2000.

Another Show A Heart with a Guineas goal is Toowomba based filly Dual Chamber.  She scored a Listed victory in the Bright Shadow Handicap at Doomben about 90 minutes after Toorak Toff’s near-miss at Randwick.

Dual Chamber (3f Show A Heart – Strong Of Heart by Lion Hunter) increased her sire’s black-type tally to 26 yesterday and trainer Rex Lipp announced she will be set for the G2 Queensland Guineas at Eagle Farm during the winter carnival.

“I’ve only had her for this preparation but she impressed me,” Lipp said after the filly finished powerfully to beat a quality field of fillies and mares.  “She will improve a lot with that run under her belt.”

Dual Chamber was catalogued for the 2008 Magic Millions National yearling sale by Oakwood Farm but failed to reach a $40,000 reserve.  She is a Tipuana Farms homebred and is related to black-type filly Fetes Galantes (Brave Warrior) who is by the same sire as Show A Heart.

Her dam Strong Of Heart produced another Show A Heart filly in 2008 but the foal died at birth.  The mare was then given a year off and was bred back to the Glenlogan Park flag-bearer last September.

Show A Heart closed the Doomben meeting with a running double courtesy of Dual Chamber  and My Limit.  The latter is owned by Ross Cutts and races in the same colours as Show A Heart.

My Limit is a five year-old and is from Show A Heart’s second crop.  He has now sired 171 winners of 439 races at a 60% strike-rate.  Show A Heart stood at Glenlogan Park for a $33,000 service fee last year.
