Dubai Destination sold to Saudi Arabia

Group 1 sire Dubai Destination has been sold to continue his stud career in Saudi Arabia.

The 16 year-old son of Kingmambo originally retired to stand at Sheikh Mohammed’s Dalham Hall Stud before covering five books as a flat and jumps sire at Glenview Stud in County Cork.

He also shuttled to Darley Australia serving 600 mares in five seasons until 2008.  There were four stakes winners from those books – Caiguna (Perth), Mulaazem (Melbourne), Ourforeignminister (NZ) and Yulalona (Sydney).

Mulaazem was a Group 2 winner of the 2013 Autumn Stakes at Caulfield from just a handful of starts.  He retired to Emirates Park Victoria and his first foals are on the ground at Diggers Rest.

Dubai Destination (USA) was a $1.50 million Keeneland yearling and he defeated Rock Of Gibraltar in the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster as a two-year-old.  He also won the G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot at four.

The best of his European progeny has been G1 Racing Post Trophy winner Ibn Khaldun

His half-brother Librettist (Danzig) was another Group 1 winning miler and he shuttled to Darley Kelvinside and Westbury Stud in NZ.  He was later transferred to stand in Italy.
