Ducimus builds black-type book at Rivercrest Park

Snitzel stakes-winner Ducimus is building a strong book for his first season at Rivercrest Park and the latest black-type addition is Shezapro.

Shezapro (Econsul) was an Ascot winner for owner-trainer Mike Santich and her first foal is promising 3yo filly Classic Pro who was runner-up in the LR Sheila Gwynne Classic (1400m) on Good Friday.

Mexican Lass (Verglas) is another black-type producer booked into Ducimus this spring.  She is the dam of G3 R J Peters Stakes winner Freo.

Eight Roses (Bellotto) also fits that black-type description as the dam of Tick Tick Bloom who was a multiple stakes winner of the 2014 Belmont Guineas/Oaks double and 2015 Bunbury Cup.

Danpegi (Fusaichi Pegasus) was a Rosehill winner for John Hawkes and will be an early cover for Ducimus in September.  She has foaled four winners to date including Rose Of Choice (Choisir) who won a LR Jungle Dawn Classic at Ascot before going east to be Group 3 placed at Flemington and Randwick.

It’s a family that has accumulated generations of black-type going back to 1983 WA Oaks winner Lowanna Rose.  There was another expensive update to the pedigree in January when Rose Of Choice had a yearling sell for $1 million to YuLong Investments at the Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Snitzel yearlings were in demand again this year with an Inglis Easter Sale colt making $2.80 million.  The top-end of an international buying-bench targeted the sireline looking for colts with stallion potential like his up-and-coming sons Shamus Award, Sizzling, Wandjina and Ducimus who was a 2yo stakes winner at Flemington for Orbis Bloodstock owner Little Kwok Hing Hung.

Black-type mares and mares who have foaled black-type performers can take advantage of discounts to Ducimus whose advertised service fee is $2,750 Inc GST.
