Due to a business partnership split, Magic Millions will offer an unreserved dispersal sale of Durham Lodge horses at the Brigadoon Equestrian Centre on Sunday, June 26.
The Durham Lodge business will continue as normal after the sale from its Muchea and Gingin properties. Resident stallions Blackfriars, Universal Ruler and Hurricane Sky have all been retained in a pre-sale agreement. All key staff will continue running the business including General Manager Jeremy Smith and Stud Manager Mark Wilkins
The sale will comprise approximately 135 lots made up of broodmares, yearlings, racehorses and weanlings. The catalaogue will include about 40 weanlings which would have been Durham Lodge’s 2012 yearling draft.
A group of yearlings specifically retained by Durham Lodge to race plus a batch of some very promising and proven racehorses are part of the catalogue. A very strong 60 plus band of broodmares will also appeal to a wide spectrum of buyers.
Durham Lodge’s retention of Blackfriars was crucial. The G1 wining son of Danehill is one of the hottest stallions in Australia and the WA breeding industry could not afford to lose him to the Eastern States.
As part of the restructure of Durham Lodge, G1 winning racehorse and sire Hurricane Sky will stand at Quanah Park in 2011 but will remain 100% owned by Durham.
The catalogue will be available towards the last week of May. For any further information please contact Jeremy Smith on (08) 9571 0155 or 0419 943 356.
