Wanted’s second book at Eliza Park in 2011 will include several buys from this week’s Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale.
Shareholders in the Wanted syndicate were active filling in sale sheets for last year’s winner of the G1 VRC Newmarket Handicap.
More Than Ready mare Patronyme was the most expensive at $425,000. She won 6 races including the G3 Birthday Card Stakes and was sold in foal to Wanted’s sire Fastnet Rock.
Brilliant sprinter Satin Robes was next best at $175,000. She was a stakes winner at Flemington and returns to Victoria with a positive test to High Chaparral. Her second dam Lady Madonna was a G1 winner of the NZ Telegraph Handicap.
Rory’s Jester G2 winner Toast of the Coast brought $120,000. Her first foal Congenial was a Randwick winner and she was sold by Bellerive Stud in foal to Flying Spur.
Wanted’s good run in the Newmarket sale ring continued when USA Listed winner Tinsel Time was sold in foal to him for $140,000. The More Than Ready mare was sold with a Myboycharlie filly at foot to NZ based Nearco Stud.
Earlier this year, mares in foal to Wanted were popular at the Perth Autumn Sale. Top price of $205,000 was paid by Perth agent John Chalmers for Finishing School (Grand Lodge). She was a French winner for Sheikh Mohammed.
And Belmont Bloodstock weighed in with $180,000 for G2 WA Guineas winner Moccasin Bend (Eternity Range).
Other confirmations for Wanted’s book in 2011 include Categorical (Hennessy), the dam of G2 STC Todman Slipper winner Krupt (Flying Spur) and Flemington stakes winner Anevay (Exceed And Excel). They are both by Danehill line stallions.
Another mare heading to the Eliza Park resident is Angelic Belle. She is the dam of flying sprinter Here de Angels.
Wanted is gearing up for another successful season following on from his initial book last year. He was priced at $38,500 and 85% of his mares have tested in foal.
