Super Easy maintained his unbeaten record in Singapore on Sunday with a three-length victory in the Kranji Stakes over 1200m.
The Michael Freedman trained gelding is unbeaten in four starts since arriving from New Zealand.
Super Easy (3c Darci Brahma – Parfore by Gold Brose) began his racing career with trainer John Sargent and won on debut at Trentham prior to a very unlucky loss in the Karaka Million.
The Darci Brahma colt has been making commendable progress through the grades under Freedman and he didn’t disappoint when given a chance to step up on Sunday night. He never looked troubled and took the lead in the straight for an effortless victory.
“He’s a very exciting horse although I wasn’t sure if I should throw him in at the deep end so soon,” Freedman said. “But I have so much faith in his ability and thought he deserved to be tested at that level.
“I will either give him a break or go towards the G2 Barker Trophy on November 11,” Freedman said. “Ideally, I would like to race him in weight-for-age races in six months. The Krisflyer International Sprint next year could be a long-range goal.”
Super Easy was sold by Esker Lodge for $140,000 at the 2010 Karaka Premier Sale but, after changing hands earlier this year, he is now raced by the Joy N Happiness Stable.
Super Easy is from the first crop of G1 Danehill sire Darci Brahma (NZ) who stands at The Oaks Stud.
Darci Brahma sired a Listed quinella in the Bonecrusher Stakes last month when his filly Artistic defeated Vincent Street at Ellerslie.
His Australian based galloper Darci Be Good won the G3 Spring Stakes at Newcastle and was narrowly beaten in the G1 ATC Spring Champion Stakes last time out.
Darci Brahma’s Melbourne based filly Our Miss Jones was runner-up to Atlantic Jewel at Caulfield before the star filly won the G1 Thousand Guineas last week.
Darci Brahma is standing for a $20,000 (plus gst) service fee at The Oaks this season. He has 11 two-year-olds in next month’s Ready to Run Sale including half-relations to G1 winners Veloce Bella (Volksraad) and Vouvray (Zabeel).
