Sunspeed-bred broodmare Ellicorsam has been catalogued for the Magic Millions National Sale in May.
Ellicorsam (Fimiston) is part of the Jynnbrook-Birchall dispersal draft and will be sold in foal to Cox Plate hero So You Think.
A homebred for trainer Sharon Miller and part-owners Neil Pinner and Craig Yeo, she won 8 races in Perth including Group 2 victories in the Winterbottom Stakes and Lee-Steere Stakes. Transferred to Lee Freedman, Ellicorsam then claimed the LR Hareeba Stakes at Mornington and G1 Swettenham Stud Stakes at Morphettville.
Now a 13 year-old, her first two foals to the races – Better Later (Encosta De Lago) and Yellow Jersey (Exceed And Excel) – have been credited with multiple minor wins.
Her third – El Doute – is in a different league. Based in New Zealand’s South Island, the son of Redoute’s Choice won the Macaulay Ford Excellency (1200m) at two and started this season with a victory in the Riccarton Guineas Trial (1400m).
Trained by Michael Pittman, El Doute finished fifth (beaten a length) in the G1 Levin Classic at his penultimate start and was then knocked off a nose in the in the LR Wingatui Guineas on February 1.
Ellicorsam has a yearling colt Lonhro and foaled a filly by Testa Rossa in September before breeding back to So You Think.
