Extra double for Darley homebred Accessories

Darley homebred Accessories has a perfect record at stud since arriving in Australia in June 2006.  The British bred mare has produced two foals out here and they combined to give Sheikh Mohammed a two-state double on Saturday.

His first foal Bullbars lunged late to win the G3 C S Hayes Stakes by nose at Flemington.  He came from last over 1400m and will appreciate an extra furlong in the G1 Australian Guineas on March 5.  “He’s top class,” jockey Mark Zahra said.  “I was really impressed by the way he pinned his ears back and had a crack.”

Bullbars (3c Elusive Quality – Accessories by Singspiel) had won on debut at Caulfield in April 2010 and has earned a cheque in all seven start apart from an unlucky run in the G1 Caulfield Guineas.

Earlier in the day, promising colt Helmet made it two-from-two this campaign with an on-pace victory in the Australian Brewery Hcp (1200m) at Rosehill.

He was beaten four lengths by Karuta Queen at his only other start at Rosehill in October.

Helmet (2c Exceed And Excel – Accessories by Singspiel) stayed in Sydney instead of accepting for the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m), however, Darley trainer Peter Snowden will send him south for the G2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) on March 12.

Accessories is an unraced half-sister to French G2 winners Pozarica (Rainbow Quest) and Annaba (In the Wings).  She has a yearling colt by Commands and a filly foal by Street Cry.
