Eye-catching winner by Bletchley Park

Top-class Perth filly For Your Eyes Only is poised to add more black-type to Bletchley Park’s record in the 2010 Champion Fillies Stakes at Ascot.  The $175,000 Group 3 event will be run on March 6.

For Your Eyes Only (3f Bletchley Park – Communique by Key Business) was a dominant winner of the Corfield Tavern Handicap (1200m) last Saturday and will start a short-priced favourite in the Champion Fillies.

“She will be the one to beat at set weights in the Champion Fillies,” trainer Paul Jordan said after his stable star defeated older gallopers on Saturday.  “She’s just a beauty and everyone recognises her with that little white mark on her nose.”

The Bletchley Park filly was racing for the first time since a dominant victory in the Magic Millions Perth 3YO Trophy (1400m) on January 30.  She has now won 8 races from 13 starts which also includes a Listed victory the 2009 WATC Gimcrack Stakes.

For Your Eyes Only was bred by Rangeview Stud and is raced by a syndicate managed by WA Racehorse Owners Association president Harvey Crossman.  She was a $23,000 buy from the Rangeview draft at the 2008 Perth Magic Millions.

Her dam Communique won four races for the Gray family before retiring to their Bullsbrook nursery.  The mare is a winning half-sister to WA Winter Championship winner Dead Eye Dick (Red Eye Special) and she has also foaled Perth winner Fighting Impact (Fighting Falcon).

She has a 2yo colt by Zentsov Street, a weanling colt by Natural Blitz and was covered by Rangeview newcomer So Secret last year.

Bletchley Park (Caerleon) stands at Ted van Heemst’s Lynward Park and is now in the twilight of an outstanding stud career that began way back in 1993.

Bletchley Park has sired more winners than any other WA based sire.  Long-time Karendale Stud resident Jevington held the record with 309 but he was overhauled last year.

Bletchley Park has sired 346 winners at a 63% strike rate and there are some 46 stakes performers in that total.
