Bullarook Park newcomer Murphy’s Blu Boy kept the winners rolling when his filly Paris Blu led home a stable quinella in the $100,000 Magic Millions National 2YO Plate (1200m) at the Gold Coast on Wednesday.  The Barry Baldwin trained youngster scored by a length to defeat stablemate Shamillion (Shamardal).

Paris Blu (2f Murphy’s Blu Boy – Fly To Paris by Air De France) was coming off a class-record victory at Ipswich last month.  She defeated Shamillion by six length that day.  “Paris Blu has always had a bit of ability,” Baldwin reported.  “She’s been a bit wayward but the boys have had a lot of fun with her.”

Paris Blu was bred by Brian Roddy who bought a half-share in Murphy’s Blu Boy for $800,000 before the boom youngster arrived in Melbourne to blitz the 2003 Blue Diamond Preview field by seven years.  The colt retired to stud the following year with 5 wins from 11 starts up to 1000m.

Roddy is also a member of the partnership that races Murphy’s Blu Boy’s recent Flemington winner Miss Chatter.  She saluted at headquarters a week after studmaster Malcolm Boyd announced Murphy’s Blu Boy would be a new addition to the roster at Bullarook Park in Avenel.

Murphy’s Blu Boy joined the Bullarook Park roster after Hunter Valley stud Baerami Thoroughbreds began dispersing up its stallion roster earlier this year.
