Buyers from around Queensland as well as interstate and abroad are converging on the Gold Coast for this weekend’s Magic Millions QTIS 600 yearling sale on Sunday and Monday, April 17 & 18.
A total of 545 lots has been assembled for the catalogue and there have been a number of updates in the past week. Among them is a colt by Oaklands Stud sire Ferocity from Krapelbon (Lot 238). He is a half brother to Nordic Monarch who was a brilliant debut winner in Adelaide last Saturday and speedy galloper Seqsational.
Nordic Monarch is trained by Tony McEvoy and he showed great fighting qualities to hold out proven city winner North Beach to win in thrilling fashion.
The first crop of Wattle Brae stallion Court Command will also be high on the shopping list of buyers.
As the only commercial sire-son of Darley resident Commands at stud in the country, Court Command provides owners and trainers the opportunity to tap into a prolific winning sireline.
His sire Commands is leading the way in the 2010-11 winners’ category with 117 to his credit. That puts him ahead of leading sires Encosta de Lago, Redoute’s Choice, Lonhro, Bel Esprit and Testa Rossa.
Commands (Danehill) was Champion Australian sire for individual winners in 2009-10 with 143 individual winners.
