First Australian winner by So You Think

Inference posted a stylish win for So You Think (NZ) against a competitive field of maidens in the City Of Ballarat Plate (1400m) on Sunday.

Inference (2c So You Think – Pontiana by Redoute’s Choice) put the writing on the wall with a good second on debut at Sandown last month and he enjoyed the run of the race with Darren Gauci in the saddle at Ballarat.

Inference was foaled, raised and broken in at Coolmore Stud and his Group 2 placed dam has a yearling filly by Pierro, a weanling filly by So You Think and will foal again to Pierro this spring.

So You Think (High Chaparral) has made a pleasing start to his stud career also siring stakes placed Conscious and Smart As You Think as well as placed Rivo Boy, who was fourth home in the G1 Sydney Sires’ Produce Stakes.

He stands at Coolmore Australia this spring at a fee of $49,500 (inc gst).
