First northern foal by Redoute’s Choice

Arrowfield Stud reports the first northern hemisphere conceived foal by Redoute’s Choice has been born at its Hunter Valley nursery.

The youngster is a bay filly from Shalwar Kameez (Sadler’s Wells) and hails from the family of leading sires Rainbow Quest and Scenic.  She is the first of nine northern bred foals by Australia’s champion sire due this year.

Redoute’s Choice is available to cover mares to northern time again this year.  The resulting foals will be eligible for the newly introduced northern time section of the Inglis Easter yearling sale.

The first crop northern time runners by Redoute’s Choice appeared in 2010 and included the British winners Elzaam and Tazahum who are both owned by Sheikh Hamdan.

Elzaam (ex Mambo In Freeport by Kingmambo) won his maiden at York in May and was then G2 placed in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Tazahum (ex Huja by Alzao) is trained by Sir Michael Stoute and was an easy debut winner at Kempton Park in September.
