First Salade winner salutes in South Australia

Kingstar Farm stallion Salade opened his account at stud with 3yo gelding Nicoise at Murray Bridge on Wednesday.

The Michael Hickmott-trained galloper led from go-to-whoa for a three-length victory in the BGC Maiden Plate (1200m).  He’s a homebred for Matthew Sandblom from Celtic Night (Secret Savings).

Salade (Snitzel) was a Group 2 winner of the Pago Pago Stakes for Bart Cummings and Sandblom who stands him alongside Bull Point (Fastnet Rock) and Monaco Consul (High Chaparral) in Denman.

Kingstar Farm was formerly known as Redman Park.  Salade is the first son of Snitzel to sire a winner and he stands for a $4,400 service fee.
