Former WA stallions Red Hot Choice and Planet Five (USA) have sired their first stakes winners during the Kingston Town Classic meeting at Ascot.

Red Hot Choice (Redoute’s Choice), who died at Mungrup Stud in 2017, was represented by LR Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic winner Sanabreanna on Saturday.  Bred and part-owned by Serpentine trainer David Harrison, she is a half-sister to several winners by Oratorio including Passion Cantata who was placed in the 2012 Lee-Steere Classic won by Hard Ball Get.

Used sparingly in the Great Southern, Red Hot Choice sired 51 live foals in five seasons including a half-dozen in his final crop that are two year-olds this season.

Planet Five (USA) sired The Celt to a black-type breakthrough in the G3 Scahill Stakes (1400m).  The Anne King-trained gelding has now won 8 races and over $600,000 in prizemoney since an Ascot juvenile on debut in January 2016.

A Group 2 winner of the Prix du Gros Chene (1000m) at Chantilly, Planet Five (Storm Cat) stood at Touchstone Farm and Roselee Stud.  His last foal, a yearling colt from city winner Trimerous (Numerous Times), was bred by Roselee’s Wayne & Tracy Rodwell.

Touchstone Farm spans 100 acres at North Dandalup and it was recently purchased by RWWA as a multi-purpose facility to support the WA Racehorse Welfare Plan for retraining and rehoming  retired racehorses.
