First winner by Chance In Time

Gelorup’s Giadresco family scooped the pool when Lady By Chance won the TAB Touch Mobi Hcp (1200m) at Belmont on Wednesday.

Lady By Chance (3f Chance In Time – Tiannefe by Marooned) is prepared by Peter Giadresco and his son Matthew and is part-owned by his wife Faye.  He also bred the filly and stands her sire Chance In Time at his south-west property.

“I’m over the moon – she was Chance In Time’s first foal and his first to the races and now she’s a city winner,” Giadresco exclaimed.  “She had been trialling well for Glenn Smith and he reckons she can make it to the Champion Fillies.”

Leading jockey Jason Whiting partnered Lady By Chance at Belmont and saved ground on the rails to help her score in a three-way photo from Fresco Friar (Blackfriars) and Durasun (Haradasun).

Chance In Time won sprints at Ascot (2) and Belmont and earned black-type when placed in a LR Fairetha Stakes.  A son of Danetime, he hails from one of Sunspeed’s most successful families.

His dam Saracen Girl (Hammed) foaled 7 winners.  The first of them was Corporate James (Corporate Raider) and he notched 20 wins including a G3 Tramway Hcp at Randwick plus five black-type events in the west.  He was also G1 placed in a Doomben 10,000.

Saracen Girl’s younger half-brother Machine Gun Tom (Corporate Raider) won 13 races to Group 1 level in the Railway Stakes.  And her older sister Eastern Mystique foaled Melbourne Cup winner Rogan Josh (Old Spice).

Giadresco has already taken 25 bookings to Chance In Time this season.  “Today’s result should help the cause.  He’s a beautifully bred horse and is value at a $3,300 service fee.”
