First winner by May’Haab

May’Haab joined the long list of Redoute’s Choice sires to be credited with a winner at Port Macquarie on Thursday.

Checkout Me Travla (3g May’haab – Beautiful Princess by Beautiful Crown) scored a narrow victory second-up in the Port Macquarie Sharks RLFC Maiden (1000m).  The Colt Prosser trained gelding had been placed on debut at Coffs Harbour last month.

May’haab (Redoute’s Choice – My Lady’s Key by Key to the Mint) stands for a $2,000 fee at the Ruttley family’s Glenthorne Park in Taree.  Bred by Emirates Park, he is a younger brother to Al Samer and was a $950,000 graduate of the 2007 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

Purchased by Dynamic Syndications, May’haab retired to stud unraced due to injury and has averaged over 40 mares a season in five years at Glenthorne Park.
