Spirit Of Bunbury sired his first winner on Thursday and, appropriately enough, it was at Bunbury.
The former south-west based stallion moved off the mark when Mighty Blonde scored third time out in the Simon Hiscox Maiden (1200m).
Mighty Blonde (4m Spirit Of Bunbury – Mighty Rich by Zedrich) started a $3.30 favourite and scored by a half-length for trainers Peter and Matthew Giadresco.
Spirit Of Bunbury (Vain Rancher) won 5 races from 11 starts highlighted by an Ascot victory in January 2007. He retired to the Giadresco’s Gelorup property but only sired a handful of foals in four seasons at stud.
Scopaciri was another son of Vain Rancher credited with winners for the Giadresco family. Their current stallion Chance in Time (Danetime) sired his first winner when Lady By Chance was successful at Belmont in September.
