First winner by Wicked Style

Oaklands Stud freshman Wicked Style opened his account with four-length winner Little White Dove at Rockhampton on Thursday.

Little White Dove (2f Wicked Style – Prey For Peace by Lion Hunter) started a $2.70 favourite after a debut second at Mackay last month for local part-owner and trainer John Pointon.

Bred by Tony Finlay, the filly wasn’t offered as a yearling.  Sold privately by Katina Cotsiopoulos as agent through bloodstock.com.au, she is a younger half-sister to Dalby winner Foretoken (All Bar One).

Wicked Style (USA) sired 45 live foals from his first crop at Oaklands Stud in Toowoomba and fully 15 have already raced.  Several of them had been placed and Thursday’s victory sent his current earnings past $100,000.

Wicked Style (Macho Uno) was a Group 1 winner of the 2007 Breeders Futurity at Keeneland.  Oaklands owner Neville Stewart stood him for a $5,500 (inc gst) fee last year.
