First winner for Aussie Rules in France

Coolmore shuttler Aussie Rules was represented by his first winner when Chinese Wall scored on debut at Maisons-Laffitte on Wednesday.

Chinese Wall (2f Aussie Rules – Ganar El Cielo by Ashkalani) is raced by owner-breeder the Marquesa de Moratella and she won the Prix Epinard (1000m) by a short head from Irish bred filly Broox (Xaar).

Aussie Rules is a Danehill grey and was a G1 winner of the French 2000 Guineas and Shadwell Mile at Keeneland.  The Maisons-Laffitte winner is one 94 foals from his first northern crop.  His first Australian yearlings were sold to six figures at the 2010 majors.

Aussie Rules stands for a 6,000 euros fee at Coolmore Ireland and is available for a $8,800 fee at Coolmore Australia in 2010.
