Love Conquers All launched his stud career with a bang when Boom Shucka won the Novotel Brisbane Airport Hcp (1050m) at Doomben on Saturday.
The Liam Birchley trained youngster exploded to a five-length victory following a first-up second at Toowoomba last month. “He improved a lot for his first-up defeat but he was still a bit wayward today,” Birchley said. “I might even back him up next Saturday because I think there is even more improvement in him.
“I like the look of the breed. I’ve got another Love Conquers All in the stable and they look like they will do the job.”
Love Conquers All (Mossman) stands at Eliza Park International’s Queensland base at Innisplain. He was the most popular stallion in the Sunshine State last year covering 181 mares.
Raced by Nick Moraitis, Love Conquers All won up to Group 2 level in the Shorts Hcp (1200m) at Rosehill. A magnificent looking animal, he came very close to winning at the elite level when beaten a nose by Rangirangdoo in the G1 George Ryder Stakes and a nose by Beaded in the G1 Doomben 10,000.
Boom Shucka (2g Love Conquers All – Montelimar by Fusaichi Pegasus) was bred by SF Bloodstock and cost $25,000 at this year’s Inglis Classic Sale. He is a half-brother to the Myboycharlie winners Loyalist and Pike.
Their dam Montelimar was stakes placed in Adelaide and is a half-sister to LR Widden Stakes winner Superfly (Rock Of Gibraltar). She has a yearling colt by fellow EPI stallion Wanted.
Eliza Park International stands Love Conquers All for an $11,000 (inc gst) fee.
