Former Coolmore shuttler Ivan Denisovich sired his first winner when Premier Clarets won at Haydock Park on Thursday. The colt had been runner-up at Newcastle earlier this month before breaking through by two lengths yesterday.
Ivan Denisovich (Danehill) did shuttle to Australia in 2007 but didn’t cover any mares. He arrived here on August 1 and was stranded at the Eastern Creek quarantine station due to the E.I. crisis. He returned to Ireland on October 6.
Ivan Denisovich retired to stud as the winner of three races including the G2 July Stakes as a two-year-old. He also ran second in the G1 Secretariat Stakes and G1 Prix Morny. He is by Danehill from Breeders’ Cup Distaff winner Hollywood Wildcat.
