Yarraman Park stallion Foreplay sired his first winner when the Clarry Conners trained gelding Decision Time won the Australia Wide Security Maiden (900m) at Kembla Grange on Saturday.
Decision Time (2g Foreplay – Daunting Thought by Just Awesome) had won a Warwick Farm trial on January 8 and ran right up to that form when surging clear to score by nearly two lengths on debut.
Unfortunately, Foreplay is now considered infertile. “His fertility has never been that brilliant although was manageable when he was at around 70%,” Yarraman Park’s Arthur Mitchell explained. “But it has gradually become worse despite extensive testing and advice from experts both in Australia and overseas.
“Foreplay will remain at Yarraman for the time being as we continue to monitor him in the hope of some improvement although he will not be standing in 2010. He covered only two mares last year which were on a free return and neither is in foal.”
Foreplay (Danehill) was a Listed winner of the JRA Stakes at Caulfield and he was also third home behind Alinghi and Fastnet Rock in the G1 Newmarket Hcp at Flemington. He is a brother to champion South African filly Laisserfaire and hails from the family of champion NZ sire Centaine.
