Floods affect figures at Brisbane Bloodstock Sale

Brisbane Bloodstock conducted its annual yearling sale at the RNA Showgrounds on Sunday and topping trade was a $40,000 Lonhro colt purchased by Caulfield trainer Brendan McCarthy.

The Lonhro – Miss Zambezi colt was offered by Darling Downs based Thoroughbred International and is a half-brother to the winners Gold Card (Fasliyev) and Commanding Time (Commands).

The Easy Rocking – Dantina colt was also in demand at $36,000.  He was catalogued by the Cronin family from Pittsworth and is from a winning sister to Queensland stakes winners Tellson (G3 Courier Mail Classic) and Tellem (LR Weetwood Hcp – twice).

Thoroughbred International dominated the top-end of the sale which finished with a clearance rate of 83%.  As expected, prices were adversely affected by the Queensland floods.
