Former Vinery shuttler Marquetry pensioned

Successful sire Marquetry has been pensioned because of declining fertility.   The 23-year-old son of Conquistador Cielo covered 38 mares in 2010.

Marquetry shuttled to Vinery Australia in 2000 for a $20,000 fee.  The best of his 15 Australian winners was G2 STC Tulloch Stakes winner Stella Grande.

Marquetry was bred at Juddmonte Farms and won the 1991 Hollywood Gold Cup for Prince Khalid Abdullah.  He sired USA sprint champions Artax and Squirtle Squirt in a career that comprised stints at Vinery and Stonewall Farm in Kentucky.
