Four on end for Life On The Wire

Pluck (USA) mare Life On The Wire has powered home to extend her winning streak in the Ladbrokes Money Wire Hcp (1400m) at Sandown.

Saturday’s victory made it four-on-end for the Tasmanian star and sets up a stakes assignment in the Bow Mistress Trophy-Gr.3 at Elwick on February 9.

“She will freshen up with Tony Carter-Smith at Kilmore and then go back home for the Bow Mistress,” trainer Scott Brunton said.  “She’s a mare that’s really starting to put it together.  She’s tough, a trier and really chases.”

Life On The Wire (4m Pluck – Our Seventh Heaven by Vettori) had to dig deep to reel in Moonlover by a neck on the Hillside circuit.  It was her 6th win in 12 starts and she also owns Listed-placings in the Tasmanian Guineas (1600m) and Hobart Guineas (2100m).

“She goes fast but we think she’s a better chaser,” jockey David Pires explained.  “She had a bunny today although I was a bit worried when the leader skipped away.  But she stuck to the task and got the job done.”

Pluck (More Than Ready) stands at Vinery and is a Top 10 third-season sire with 19 individual winners this season.  He has a yearling half-brother to South African Group 2 performer Estiraaj catalogued as Lot 1010 at the Gold Coast Magic Millions on Sunday, January 14.
