Freedman’s four in Singapore Magic Millions

Singapore trainer Michael Freedman could have up to four runners in the G3 Magic Millions Juvenile Championship (1200m) at Kranji next Sunday.

Freedman produced Distinction (Brilliance) for the first time last Friday night and the NZ bred gelding scored a slashing three length victory over 1200m.  He could join stablemates Mr Big (Elusive Quality), Rush (Charge Forward) and Super Easy (Darci Brahma) in the $200,000 feature.

“I will definitely have to give it due consideration,” Freedman said.  “I’m leaning to giving him a let-up because I think he will grow into a nice three-year-old.”

The son of Grangewilliam Stud sire Brilliance cost Freedman $65,000 from Ascot Farm at the NZB Ready To Run Sale.  “He travels kindly and is a push-button type of horse,” Freedman added.  “I suppose the fact he is a grandson of Thunder Gulch helps him to be so relaxed.”

Distinction is owned by the Mummify Stable and pleased jockey Ronnie Stewart.  “I was a little bit unsure whether he was good enough to win after I galloped him during the week,” Stewart admitted.  “He’s a race day horse and only does what you ask him.  He was waiting for me to give him a dig to get going.  He’s a very laid-back type of horse and I think he will get better over more ground.”
