French Champion finds new home at Vinery

Vinery Stud has announced former French Champion Juvenile Myboycharlie will join its roster for the 2009 breeding season.

Raced by the Coolmore juggernaut and trained by Tommy Slack, Myboycharlie (3c Danetime-Dulceata by Rousillon) won his first three starts in sizzling fashion culminating with a win in France’s premier G1 event the Prix Morny (1200m).

Following that run he was transferred to Ireland where he trounced his rivals in the G3 Anglesey Stakes (1200m) by seven lengths.  At his next run he was a narrow third in the G1 National Stakes (1400m) also at The Curragh.

Vinery General Manager Peter Orton is thrilled to be standing the former boom galloper.  “Myboycharlie was clearly a 2YO of the very highest calibre and boasts that dynamic combination of natural pace and acceleration. The Prix Morny is the Golden Slipper equivalent in France and has been won by some outstanding sires like Blushing Groom, Irish River, Machiavellian and Zafonic,” Orton said.

By former smart Danehill sire Danetime, who shuttled for four season to Western Australia’s Bellbridge Farm before passing away in early 2005, Myboycharlie is from the lightly raced Rousillon mare Dulceata, a half sister to Snowdrift (Polish Precedent).

Snowdrift is a well known broodmare in Australia and has produced G1 Galaxy Handicap winner, now sire, Snowland (Snippets) and his stakes winning full brother Snippetson as well as G2 Surround Stakes winner Portillo (Red Ransom).

Myboycharlie will stand for a service fee of $14,300 inc gst
