Darley sire Street Sense has 15 yearlings catalogued for the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions and they are sure to be popular given their sire covered more Group 1 winning mares in his first season in Australia than he did in Kentucky.

Street Sense is a son of Darley sire Street Cry and he created history as the first colt to claim the G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and Kentucky Derby double.

Street Sense was the leading first-season sire with his southern hemisphere weanlings earlier this year.  They sold up to $100,000 and his first yearlings on the Gold Coast include three half-brothers to Group 1 winners.

Toolooganvale has a half-brother to G1 Golden Slipper Calaway Gal (Lot 40).  This colt is the sole registered grey yearling by his sire from his first-crop.

Rothwell Park consigns a half-brother to G1 HKJC Queen’s Silver Jubilee Cup winner Joyful Winner (Lot 383).  He is out of the Last Tycoon mare Northern Tycoon and is likely to create much interest within the Asian market.

Edinglassie Stud sells a half-brother to G3 winner Fouardee (Lot 541).  He is the third foal of Flying Spur’s Flemington stakes winner Sojustrememberthis and comes from the family of G1 Dubai Shema Classic winner Sun Classique.

The Street Sense yearlings are sure to be in high demand not only off the back of his yearling sale success in the USA, but also due to Street Cry’s success in Australia.  He has sired 18 individual southern hemisphere stakes performers headed by G1 winners Whobegotyou and Shocking.

Looking further into the sales season, there are likely to be many more yearlings of interest to come by Street Sense, including at the Inglis Easter yearling sale, where he has a three-quarter brother to Melbourne Cup winner Shocking entered.
