Belmont Bloodstock’s Damon Gabbedy had several irons in the fire from France to Australia on Saturday.

He kicked off with winning graduates All Too Royal (Randwick) and Zaratite (Belmont) before kicking in with €210 000 for a Toronado colt at the Arqana yearling sale in Deaville.

Belmont Bloodstock (FBAA) paid $125,000 for All Too Royal at the 2016 Inglis Easter Sale and Saturday’s last-to-first victory in the Winter Racing Hcp (1100m) increased his bank-balance to $262,935.

“It was a strong race and we asked Robbie (Dolan) to ride him conservatively from the awkward barrier,” Ciaron Maher said. “His Cranbourne trial was impressive earlier this month and he worked well at Canterbury on Tuesday. That held him in good stead and we were confident he would finish off well.”

All Too Royal is by Vinery sire All Too Hard from G1 Robert Sangster Stakes winner Bel Mer (Bel Esprit). Gabbedy secured him from Goldin Farms for a syndicate that includes Vinery, Neil Werrett and Rupert Legh.

Zaratite completed a hat-trick in the TAB Touch Better Your Bet Hcp (2100m) in Perth on Saturday. Belmont Bloodstock outlaid $50,000 for him at the 2017 Inglis Easter Sale on behalf of Peters Investments and he’s doubled that price-tag in earnings with 4 wins in 7 starts.

Former Arrowfield shuttler Animal Kingdom (USA) sired the lightly-raced gelding from Irish-bred mare Zarakiysha (Kendor). His dam is an unraced half-sister to HH The Aga Khan’s G1 Arc de Triomphe winner Zarkava (Zamindar).

The Arqana August Sale concluded on Monday with across-the-board increases for turnover (20%) and average (24%) on a 79% clearance rate. Gabbedy is the Australian representative for Aqana and he struck on Saturday with the equivalent of AUD 343,833 for a colt by Swettenham Stud shuttler Toronado (Ire).

The regally-bred yearling was offered by Haras d’Etreham and was purchased for Hollymount Stud owner Matthew Sandblom. His unraced dam Considerate (Dansili) is a half-sister to champion mare Enable who is on track for a G1 Arc de Triomphe hat-trick in October.
