Gavelhouse alliance with Irish Racing

Irishracing.com has announced a new partnership with leading online thoroughbred sales company Gavelhouse.com.

The alliance will provide an opportunity to buy and sell racehorses worldwide.  Gavelhouse is a trusted and highly professional independent service where buyers and sellers deal directly with each other and pay no commission.

Gavelhouse has proven success in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and is now launching its service into the Irish and UK markets.  This partnership will allow subscribers to the Gavelhouse service to showcase their horses to a broad audience on irishracing.com where 250,000 unique users access the website per month.

Vincent Finegan, Editor of irishracing.com said:  “Our partnership with Gavelhouse.com offers a great opportunity for everyone involved in the buying and selling of racehorses.  Sellers will see their stock promoted to the right people, both within Ireland and across the globe, without the horses ever leaving the farm.

“Buyers can browse a vast range of horses for sale, syndication or lease and deal directly with the vendor.  This service is not intended to replace traditional methods of buying and selling horses, but rather compliment them.  Small scale owners and breeders can now compete on a level playing field with the big boys.”

Gavelhouse.com is the brainchild of Australian racehorse owner and breeder Gary Moore.  Moore, who has owned multiple stakes winners including the 1999 Thousand Guineas winner Shizu, founded the business in 2008.

Gary Moore said:  “This is an exciting alliance we have forged with irishracing.com.  Our focus is all about bringing buyers and sellers together and creating new opportunities for those within the thoroughbred industry.  By teaming up with a racing information medium such as irishracing.com I feel we now offer the complete service.”

Gavelhouse has representatives on the ground in five of the major racing jurisdictions who offer support and advice, and ensure the best possible results for each vendor.  Former bloodstock agent Tom Ryan is the Gavelhouse representative in Ireland.  Ryan has more than 20 years of experience within the industry and has purchased many winners for international clients including subsequent dual Group 1 winner Joshua Tree.

Gavelhouse has listed and sold thousands of horses across its network and has facilitated in local and international sales to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Europe, South America, China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and Malaysia.
