White Robe Lodge has acquired Darley blueblood Ghibellines to stand in New Zealand.
The Group 2 winning son of Shamardal is out of G1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Camarilla (Elusive Quality) and is closely related to champion colt Sepoy.
“We’ve been looking for a horse like this for a long time,” White Robe studmaster Wayne Stewart said. “Ghibellines is a magnificent looking type out of one of Australia’s best families and he’s got the race record as well.”
Ghibellines was a Group 2 winner of the Todman Slipper Trial defeating Magic Millions Classic winner Unencumbered. He is a half-brother to Group 1 winning filly Guelph (ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes, Champagne Stakes, Flight Stakes and MRC Thousand Guineas).
White Robe Lodge will stand him for at an introductory fee of $5,500 alongside Gallant Guru and Raise The Flag.
