Gold Front Thoroughbreds spent $605,000 to lead Sunspeed breeders at the Magic Millions National Mare Sale this week.

Owners Alan and Sue Olive boosted their bloodstock portfolio with three mares headed by Hidden Wonder (Danzero) for $285,000.  The Kris Lees trained sprinter-miler won the LR Belle of the Turf Stakes at Gosford in October 2010 following a close-up fourth to Captain Sonador in the G1 Epsom Hcp at Randwick.

Hidden Wonder’s first foal was a Sepoy filly and she was sold in foal to Pierro.

Gold Front paid $240,000 for Mafia Miss (Mossman).  A precocious filly, she was runner-up in the LR Gimcrack Stakes and LR Widden Stakes as a two year-old at Randwick.

Mafia Miss was sold in foal to Street Cry and she is a half-sister to the city winners Lampedusa (Flemington) and Sunday Lady (Warwick Farm).  They are from a half-sister to the dam of Magic Millions 3YO Trophy winner Punch On and

Three year-old filly Tara Beauty (Sebring) was an $80,000 addition to the Olive’s shopping list on the Gold Coast.  She is an unraced half-sister to LR Widden Stakes winner Georgette Silk.

Tara Beauty was trained by Gai Waterhouse and was placed in a Randwick trial in April.

The Magic Millions Sale coincided with news Gold Front is part of a syndicate that will stand Hong Kong star Admiration in Western Australia.

Admiration (Aus) won 7 races topped by the G2 Chairman’s Trophy (1600m) at Sha Tin.  He was also Group 1 placed in the Hong Kong Classic Mile.

Regally bred, Admiration is by Coolmore Stud champion Encosta De Lago from Flemington stakes winner Provence (Redoute’s Choice).  His dam is a three-quarter sister to Hong Kong Group 1 winner Inspiration and a full-sister to Flemington stakes winner Lucky Unicorn.

Admiration will stand at Phil Ibbotson’s Westbury Park Stud in Pinjarra.
