Vinery sire Excites collected another Inglis Race Series Bonus when his talented colt Red Excitement scored a front-running victory over 1600m at Gosford on Sunday.
Red Excitement (3c Excites – Red Obsession by Red Ransom) was a $32,500 buy at the 2011 Inglis Classic yearling sale for Glenn and Viive Williams and he has now banked $182,950. “We selected him ourselves,” Glenn said. “We think the Classic is a great sale and we like Excites.”
Trained by Neville Layt at Queanbeyan, Red Excitement had won the Lightning Ridge 2YO Plate at Canberra in February and connections collected another $67,250 in prizemoney and bonuses on Sunday.
Excites won the G1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes at two and returned the following spring to finish second to Wonderful World in the G1 Caulfield Guineas. He is a son of Danewin and is an elder half-brother to Duporth and Tickets.
Excites stands for a service fee of $6,600 at Vinery. His latest crop of two year-olds includes brilliant Morphettville winner Excites Zelady who is being set for the G3 Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) on the last day of the Flemington carnival.
