Forecasts of a strong showing by Vinery’s freshman sire Myboycharlie this season are gathering pace after another one of his youngsters scored an impressive trial win in New Zealand.
Still unnamed, the Lisa Latta trained colt did best in an 800m hit-out at Foxton on Thursday. He is by Myboycharlie and was bought for $65,000 from Westbury Stud at the NZB Karaka Select yearling sale. His dam Princess Carolina won two Victorian provincial races for Mick Price and she is a sister to stakes performed More Than Ready mare Readyforcatherine.
A late October foal, the Kiwi youngster follows Myboycharlie colt Charlie Chopsticks who won a Warwick Farm trial for Bjorn Baker last month. “His yearlings were incredibly well received at sales around Australia and across in New Zealand,” Vinery’s Adam White said. “Those that we have seen in the early trials have done well and it won’t be long before we see his first winner.”
Myboycharlie has been the subject of strong support for the 2012-13 Australian first-season winners’ premiership. He firmed from $21 into $11 with Sportingbet Australia last month.
Myboycharlie (Ire) is a Danehill-line stallion through Danetime and he won the G3 Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh by seven lengths before graduating to a G1 triumph in the G1 Prix Morny at Deauville.
Vinery is standing Myboycharlie for a $8,800( inc gst) service fee this year.
