Grassyards Farm signs Prince of Brooklyn

Prince of Brooklyn has been retired to stand at Grassyards Farm in the South Island of New Zealand.

Grassyards Farm owners Jason Coutts and Charlotte Young have selected the Group 3 winning son of Magnus as the foundation sire for their property near Dunedin.

Unbeaten at two, Prince of Brooklyn won the G3 National Stakes at Morphettville on debut and ended his juvenile season with further success in the Elvstroem Classic at Swan Hill.

He was lightly-raced at three with the best performance a close second to Lord Von Costa in the LR Creswick Stakes at Flemington. He continued racing at four with a Caulfield win and placing behind subsequent Group 1 winner He’s Our Rokki.

Injury then curtailed Prince of Brooklyn’s career as the winner of 3 of his 10 starts. “He is an outstanding type,” trainer Mick Price said. “He’s 16.2 hands, has great bone, strong feet, he’s correct, has a big hindquarter and is a beautiful mover.”
