The G1 Emirates Stakes will be the next target for grand galloper Love Conquers All after he thumped his rivals in the G3 Moonga Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
Love Conquers All was given a perfect ride from the inside barrier by Darren Beadman and, after shouldering clear in the straight, he raced away for the easiest of wins.
Co-trainer Wayne Hawkes said Hong Kong based Beadman rode Love Conquers All superbly. “”He gave him a good smother out of the wind, protected him a bit and saved him for a sprint at the end.”
Love Conquers All (5g Mossman – She’s a Meanie by Prince Salieri) was a $400,000 buy for John Hawkes and Nick Moraitis at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions. He has now won 8 races and earned over $1.35 million.
Love Conquers All is one of three winners for G1 Avondale Cup winner She’s a Meanie (Prince Salieri). His older half-sister She’s Meaner (Falvelon) won the BTC Tommy Smith Slipper and Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Slipper.
A magnificent looking animal, Love Conquers All is assured of a stud career but a G1 victory during the spring carnival will boost his prospects of a home on a high-profile roster.
Love Conquers All has come very close to winning at the elite level twice this year. He was beaten a nose by Rangirangdoo in the G1 George Ryder at Rosehill and a nose by Beaded in the G1 Doomben 10,000.
She’s a Meanie has a Sebring filly nominated for the 2012 Gold Coast Magic Millions in January.
Vinery sire Mossman has two Group 1 races in his sights on Saturday, November 5. Besides Love Conquers All in the Emirates at Flemington, his speed machine Hoofit is one of the main chances in a wide-open edition of the G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Churchill Downs.
