RESPONSE and No Evidence Needed reversed their positions from the Let’s Elope Stakes in providing a landmark Group 1 quinella for graduates of Easter Session II at Caulfield on Saturday.

Patinack Farm’s No Evidence Needed held the call in the G2 Let’s Elope, but with a turnaround in weights, Response was able to produce a sustained display of front running speed to land the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.

Response was a $50,000 buy at the Inglis 2008 Easter II Sale when offered for sale by Alanbridge Stud.  She came to prominence when running second to yet another Easter II star, Faint Perfume, in the Kewney Stakes in March.  She franked the strength of that form a week later when easily beating older mares in the Group 3 Matron Stakes.

Response (4m Charge Forward-Live It Up) was picked out of the sale by Inglis Bloodstock Consultant Ian MacPherson on behalf of owners Barry and Midge Griffiths.  The popular couple also won Saturday’s race and the 1992 Caulfield Cup with Mannerism.

Response becomes the second individual Group 1 winner for Arrowfield stallion Charge Forward following Easter graduate Headway.

NO EVIDENCE NEEDED has been a wonderful performer right throughout this calendar year and this Group 1 placing only adds further to her already valuable broodmare potential.  She was a $130,000 buy out the 2008 Inglis Easter II Sale.

No Evidence Needed (4m Shamardal-Generosa) filled out a Rupert Clarke quinella for Inglis graduates and it followed wins by Sydney’s favourite mare Hot Danish and Peter Moody’s emerging classic contender Anacheeva.

HOT DANISH added to her wonderful record when making a one act affair of the G2 Premiere Stakes.  Randwick trainer Les Bridge bought her for $32,000 at the 2005 Inglis Scone sale.

Previously known as the best horse in the country not to have won at Group 1 level, Hot Danish brushed off that tag with wins in the All Aged Stakes and Doomben 10,000 earlier in the year.  The Premiere Stakes was her 15th win and her earnings have now gone beyond the $2 million mark.   

Hot Danish (7m Nothin’ Leica Dane-Hot ‘N’ Breezy) has now been a stakes winner in each of the past five racing seasons.

ANACHEEVA ( 3c Anabaa-Monroe Magic) made it two stakes wins from as many attempts this preparation when finishing too strongly in the G3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m).  The Widden Stud graduate cost $110,000 at the 2009 Inglis Easter sale and is on target to emulate his full-brother Headturner as a G1 winner.  Trainer Peter Moody has a huge range of options open to him in the coming weeks.

RAINBOW STYLING ( 6g Zabeel-Done That) added to the Easter theme when he caused an upset in the G3 Naturalism Stakes.  The Team Hawkes trained galloper, who is raced by Nick Moraitis, is now a dual stakes winner of $430,000.  He was a $300,000 buy at the 2006 Inglis Easter sale.
