Group 1 winning mare Nonsuch Bay brought a final bid of $210,000 from SF Bloodstock to top Day 7 of the Keeneland November Sale on Sunday.
Nonsuch Bay (Mr. Greeley) was offered in foal to A. P. Warrior. The 11-year-old won seven races including the G1 Mother Goose Stakes and G2 Nassau County Stakes. She was consigned by Stonewall Farm Stallions.
During the Sunday session, Keeneland sold 279 horses for $4.84 million for an average of $17,366. Last year’s average panned out at $23,230.
Josham Farms paid the day’s second-highest price of $85,000 for Gentle Words (Bertrando) sold in foal to Candy Ride. She is the dam of 2007 El Cajon Stakes winner Rush With Thunder.
Northwest Stud Stable went to $82,000 for Double Major, another Bertrando mare offered in foal to Candy Ride. Both mares were consigned by Lane’s End as agent for Pam and Martin Wygod.
Also bringing a final bid of $82,000 was Notting Hill (Jules), a Brazilian Group winner sold in foal to Aragorn. She was purchased by Brookdale Farm from the Gulf Coast Farms dispersal.
