Harbour Watch retired by Tweenhills Stud

Former Emirates Park shuttler Harbour Watch (Ire) has been withdrawn from covering duties in England.

An unbeaten son of Acclamation, he had been based for the past five breeding seasons at Tweenhills Stud.  “He has arthritic joint issues relating to an accident during his racing career,” Qatar Bloodstock manager David Redvers said.  “Sadly, we have to announce his retirement on veterinary advice.”

Harbour Watch raced three times for Richard Hannon snr for wins at Salisbury and Newmarket before graduating to the G2 Richmond Stakes at Goodwood where he achieved a Racing Post Rating of 117.

His leading performers in Europe include G2 Prix Robert Papin winner Tis Marvellous and the ill-fated Santry who finished second in this year’s G2 Norfolk Stakes.

In Australia, Harbour Watch shuttled to Emirates Park’s Murrurundi headquarters in 2013 and 2014 siring a combined 100 foals at a $9,900 (inc gst) fee.  He sired a winner with his first starter when flashy chestnut colt Harnova won the Romantic Dream Plate (1000m) at Tamworth in October 2016.
