Hat-trick for Dubleo dynamo

Melbourne based filly Dubleanny has been the flag-bearer for Vinery sire Dubleo and she can land the first black-type for her sire in the Listed VRC Creswick Stakes at Flemington on June 12.

Dubleanny (3f Dubleo – Uncanny Lady by Canny Lad) ran the fastest final sectional of the day to win the www.sportsbet.com.au Hcp (1200m) by over a length at Caulfield on Saturday.  The Mick Price trained filly missed the kick and was the only galloper to break 23s for the final 400 metres on the day.

Dubleo’s oldest southern hemisphere runners are three year-olds and he has sired 22 winners to date.  Dubleanny races in Vinery’s green and white colours and she heads the pack with four wins and $150,000 in prizemoney.

Price also prepared G1 winning mare Bel Mer for Vinery.  She annexed the SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville in March 2009 and was covered by Vinery champion More Than Ready last October.

Dubleanny completed a winning hat-trick at Caulfield after a running double at Flemington.  “She’s just flying,” Price said.  “She will go to the Creswick and then have a break because I think she will make a nice four-year-old.”

Dubleo (Southern Halo) was a G2 winner of the Summer Stakes at Woodbine and G3 Generous Stakes at Hollywood Park.  He is by More Than Ready’s sire Southern Halo out of a Secretariat half sister to leading USA Sire Rubiano and the dam of Champion USA First Season Sire Tapit.

Dubleanny was a $65,000 purchase at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions and is one of four winners from Uncanny Lady, an unraced half sister to the stakes performer Rock Idol (Flying Spur).  Her dam has a 2yo Choisir filly named Uncanny Choice and a weanling colt by Casino Prince.  She was covered by Exceedingly Good last year.

Dubleanny was the first leg of a winning day on home soil for Price.  He completed a winning treble later in the day with Royal Charades (Royal Academy) and Das Machen (Flying Spur).
