Heart-attack claims Coolmore sire Grand Slam

Coolmore sire Grand Slam has died after suffering a heart-attack at Ashford Stud in Kentucky on Saturday.  He was 17.

Grand Slam (Gone West – Bright Candles by El Gran Senor) has sired 73 stakes winners topped by Cajun Beat, Visionaire and Café Olympus at Group 1 level.  He has also been represented by a quartet of three year-old stakes winners in 2012.
