An unraced gelding by boom sire High Chaparral topped the Inglis Autumn Sale on Friday. The sale enjoyed an excellent clearance rate of 93% with $427,450 being traded on the 125 horses that changed hands.
Of the horses sold, 23% went to online bidders, with almost half the lots sold attracting an online bid, including the under-bidder on the sale topper.
“These figures just go to show how important online bidding has become at these type of sales,” Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy said. “It certainly helped us in achieving a strong clearance rate.”
Vin Cox secured the High Chaparral gelding Single who topped the sale at $60,000. He is an unraced three-year-old from the G3 winning Nashwan mare Myself.
Recent Randwick winner Gold Tea was knocked down for $25,000 to Louise Dean. The daughter of No Excuse Needed is the winner of five races, with three of those coming since December.
Horses passed in on Friday are still available for sale via the Inglis Make an Offer service. The next sale on the Inglis calendar is the March Sale to be held at Oaklands Junction this coming Friday, March 18.
This sale is shaping very strongly, with 192 horses catalogued and a further 62 supplementary entries have already been received. Vendors can enter further supplementaries until 9am on Monday morning.
