Highview Stud stallion Kashani has been retired from stud duties.
Kashani (Danzig) began stud duties at Highview in 1995 and has earned a reputation as one of the best value sires available to breeders in New Zealand. He gets a great type with great attitude which particularly appeals to the Asian market.
“He has been a prolific sire of proven gallopers but he was at the point where it was time to retire him,” Highview’s Brent Gillovic said. “His progeny are renowned for their toughness and ability to put a number of race wins together.”
Kashani is the sire of more than 250 individual winners at a very respectable 66% strike-rate. Kainui Belle was one of his best performers winning at G2 level in the Eight Carat Classic at Ellerslie and the Wellington Guineas at Trentham. She was also runner-up in the G1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas at Riccarton.
Highview Stud will stand Danroad, Align and Sufficient in 2011.
